Story Line: Pat plans a family vacation, although Courtney and Mike aren't happy with the idea. Courtney continues to patrol Blue Valley as Stargirl, even though the ISA is defeated. Yolanda deals with the guilt of killing Brainwave, Beth tries to restore Chuck, and Rick learns that his parents' killer is hiding in the woods. With summer break around the corner, Pat suggests the family take a vacation; Beth stumbles upon a major secret her parents have been keeping from her; Rick secretly tracks Solomon Grundy after suspecting he may still be in the area. The series begins with a cryptic flashback to 1965 in Blue Valley, Nebraska, where Rebecca encounters a peculiar boy with a toy car. The boy persuades her to accept the toy, and when she does, something sinister occurs—her mother discovers her apparently dead, suggesting that there is some dark supernatural presence involved. Now, Courtney (Stargirl) is fixated on patrolling Blue Valley, despite the fact that crime has dropped dramatically since their fight against the ISA. She has difficulty juggling superhero duties with civilian life, particularly when Pat Dugan (S.T.R.I.P.E.) and her mom, Barbara, tell her to concentrate on school and have a regular summer. But Courtney's plans are foiled when she flunks history class and has to go to summer school. Meanwhile, her friends Yolanda (Wildcat), Rick (Hourman), and Beth (Doctor Mid-Nite) all have their own personal demons to contend with.
