Story Line: Sheriff Hassan fields multiple missing persons reports as the town prepares to gather for Good Friday. To protect Erin, Riley brings the truth to light. The show begins with Erin Greene waking up after her traumatic experience in the last episode, only to discover that her unborn child has mysteriously vanished. When she consults with Dr. Sarah Gunning for an explanation, Sarah too is perplexed. This contributes to the ever-piling mystery of the bizarre events in Crockett Island. In the meantime, Father Paul Hill (who is later revealed to be Monsignor Pruitt) admits to Mildred Gunning (Sarah's mother) that the enigmatic "angel" has bestowed youth and healing powers upon him. He attempts to rationalize his actions, feeling that taking the angel's gift to the island is a divine blessing. Mildred, now appearing younger, is, however, severely shaken. As the episode unfolds, Riley Flynn questions Father Paul regarding the supernatural occurrences, especially the miraculous healings and individuals gaining energy. Father Paul ultimately discloses the truth: the "angel" is a vampire-like being, and its blood is being added to the communion wine. Those who partake of it feel healed and rejuvenated but also gain a bloodlust. The most astounding is when Riley gets attacked and vampirized by the self-proclaimed angel. When he comes to, Father Paul tells him that he is reborn now and should accept his new life. Riley, however, is appalled and does not accept it. Vowing to reveal Erin the reality, Riley takes Erin out on a boat in the middle of the ocean at sunrise. When the sun rises, Riley catches fire and dies, giving his life to make Erin realize the horror that is taking place on the island. The episode concludes with Erin screaming while watching the frightful scene, leading to the final showdown in the last two episodes.
