Story Line: The first outing saw the team deal with the repercussions of a solar storm whereas the next set of episodes will focus on cyber warfare and the popularity of fake news. However, a pandemic was considered in the very clary days of production. Johnny Lawrence's attempts to rebuild Cobra Kai reach a critical juncture in this episode. Having witnessed the repercussions of his violent teaching methods, he comes to understand that he must change if he is to be a better sensei and role model for his students. Johnny takes his students on a field trip to impart discipline and respect to them, but he still uses clumsy methods, and the outing soon turns into chaos. Johnny gets into a fight with a sensei who is a rival of his, further demonstrating how he differs from Daniel LaRusso. Although his setbacks, Johnny still looks after his students and does his best to impart to them life lessons, although he still struggles with his own personal failings as a mentor. His actions reveal that he's not the same individual he once was in school, but that he still needs to mature more. Miguel's relationship with Samantha remains under strain as his commitment to Cobra Kai begins to put a strain on their relationship. As much as Miguel started out charming and pleasant, his evolution into a harsher and more brutal competitor is making Samantha wonder if he's turning into the very thing she loathes. Samantha is torn between her lingering affection for Miguel and her growing apprehension about the toxic surroundings of Cobra Kai. These two characters experience themselves pulled apart in this episode, symbolizing the widening gap between them and the ethical differences that drive them apart.
