Story Line: To earn some extra cash, quirky college student Benny (Jorge Lendeborg, Jr.) moonlights as a chauffeur for one night. His task: drive two mysterious young women (Debby Ryan and Lucy Fry) around Los Angeles for a night of party hopping. The movie reveals that vampires have co-existed peacefully with humans for centuries, feeding only by consent. Benny, a freelance chauffeur driving in place of his brother Jay, is hired by friends Blaire and Zoe to drive them to several popular Los Angeles nightclubs. Unbeknownst to him, the girls are both vampires, and Jay is secretly part of the human council charged with maintaining the peace between vampires and humans. Victor, a wealthy vampire lord who has grown bored and discontented with his life, is planning to subvert the system by kidnapping Jay's girlfriend and breaking the truce with Boyle Heights. As Jay and his allies begin hunting down all of the vampires in Greater Los Angeles, Victor executes a plan to wipe out his fellow lords and seize power for himself while tasking Blaire and Zoe with creating as much chaos in the city as they can to distract the vampire hunters and peacekeepers. In Night Teeth, an enthralling mixture of thriller, horror, and urban fantasy, the plot follows a young chauffeur, Benny (portrayed by Jorge Lendeborg Jr.), who becomes entangled in a perilous realm he never anticipated. Benny is merely a typical college student striving to cover his expenses by working for a ride-hailing service. However, one fateful night transforms everything when he is hired to transport two enigmatic women, Blaire (Debby Ryan) and Zoe (Lucy Fry), throughout Los Angeles. He remains unaware that this seemingly routine job will plunge him into a lethal and supernatural escapade. Underutilizing actors with recognizable skills (like Megan Fox, Sydney Sweeney and, as Benny’s vampire-hunting brother, Raúl Castillo), “Night Teeth” is an enervated parade of hot colors and cold hearts. Brent Dillon’s script delivers pinpricks of wit (“Please drink responsibly,” one party hostess advises her guests), and the cinematographer Eben Bolter knows his neon. That’s one reason the movie’s decadent nightclub vibe is more fully realized than any of its characters: Far from giving me shivers, “Night Teeth” gave me a sudden urge to break out the sequined pants and head for the nearest velvet rope.
