Story Line: It is 2248 and the fate of humanity is at risk. The surface of Earth has become uninhabitable and a horrible disease threatens the existence of the last of mankind, who has been forced to live underground. Is there hope for mankind? In 2248, Fang Yi, the dormant captain of the C40 team, and his team members Liu Huo, Duan Yishan, and others are awakened by the artificial intelligence control system Light of the Long Night and must carry out a top-secret mission. 

The surface of Earth has become uninhabitable and a horrible disease threatens the existence of the last of mankind, who has been forced to live underground. Led by the ruthless Mr. Dee (Ding Hai Feng), the Black Feather Society breaks into the center...only to find that the information it is after has been taken out of the center by an escaping scientist. The Society vows to hunt the scientist down and destroy her. The artificial intelligence decides to activate an elite unit known as C40 in order to defend the data. This unit has been cryogenically frozen in preparation for an emergency. 

Led by the valiant captain Fang Yi (Ren Tian Ye), Liu Huo (Wang Tao), and the rest of the team are woken up and dispatched to the scene of the break-in. But do they really have what it takes to stop Mr. Dee and his gang of cut-throats? Directed by Zhang Zhen, the 2021 Chinese sci-fi action film The Underground War is set in a future where a solar storm has forced humans to build "underground cities" to survive. Due to limited resources, those who cannot enter the underground city join the "Black Feather Project," which endeavors to use drugs to alter genes and allow humans to return to life on Earth's surface. In the dark underground world, a fierce doomsday battle that affects the fate of all mankind begins.
