Story Line: Taylor is a girl struggling with mental health, grief, and dating. Follow her journey as she shares an intimate look at her life in a hilarious way. Taylor Tomlinson returns to Netflix with her second original comedy special Look At You. Taylor hilariously shares an intimate look at her struggles with mental health, grief, and dating. This took place on Cummings’s podcast, one of two freewheeling episodes that Tomlinson, now 28, appeared on during the pandemic that was also filmed and released on YouTube.

For most of their chummy conversations, Tomlinson appeared polite, deferential, even in awe of her friend and mentor, a more seasoned stand-up, writer, and television star. But when Cummings offhandedly suggested her protΓ©gΓ© might need help from a stylist with her new haircut, the temperature in the room plummeted. Decided to throw this on and honestly didn't know what to expect. Being familiar with some of her work, I was really curious about this one as I did not quite connect with her last special. But this? This is like the unleashed version of Taylor - and it is fucking great.

A huge theme of the special is Taylor speaking on her newly diagnosed Bipolar disorder, and taking a real deep dive into the passing of her late mother. The vulnerability in this is hands down one of my favorite things I've seen in a special, ever. It compares hugely to Maria Bamfords mental illness stuff and I just love it. I really hope to see more of this from her, as it seems like she has really found her voice - which I have never quite seen in her work before this special. Highly recommended.
