Story Line: Suzu is a shy, everyday high school student living in a rural village. For years, she has only been a shadow of herself.

Belle (竜とそばかすの姫, Ryū to Sobakasu no Hime, literally The Dragon and the Freckled Princess) is a 2021 Japanese animated science fantasy film written and directed by Mamoru Hosoda and produced by Studio Chizu. The story is inspired by the 1756 French fairy tale Beauty and the Beast by Jeanne-Marie Leprince de Beaumont as well as the 1991 Disney animated film.

Belle premiered on July 15, 2021, at the 2021 Cannes Film Festival, where it was well-received by critics with a standing ovation that lasted fourteen minutes. The film was additionally dubbed into foreign languages (English, Chinese, Norwegian, Portuguese, Spanish, Italian, French, Greek, German, and Polish). It was released theatrically in Japan on July 16, 2021. Belle is the third-highest-grossing Japanese film of 2021, accounting for ¥6.53 billion in box-office rankings as of December 12, 2021. But when she enters "U", a massive virtual world, she escapes into her online persona as Belle, a gorgeous and globally-beloved singer. One day, her concert is interrupted by a monstrous creature chased by vigilantes. As their hunt escalates, Suzu embarks on an emotional and epic quest to uncover the identity of this mysterious "beast" and to discover her true self in a world where you can be anyone. Suzu Naito is a 17-year-old high school student, who lives in the rural countryside of Kōchi Prefecture with her father. After losing her mother at a young age, she lost her passion for singing, something she used to love.

After closing her heart off to the rest of the world, Suzu and her father grew more and more distant. Feeling that music is her only purpose left in life, Suzu discovers the massive online space known as "U", a virtual reality counting five billion online members, where she breathes life into her persona, "Belle". Inside "U", Suzu quickly realizes that she is able to sing naturally, and quickly rises to become a world-famous star inside the virtual world, as she continues to showcase her own music. However, Belle soon meets a mysterious dragon creature with whom she embarks on an adventurous journey to discover who they truly are.
